Bruno Nicoli

Conductor


Bruno Nicoli carries out his musical activity as conductor and musical assistant for Teatro alla Scala, where he progressed through all the steps, to become the permanent conductor and responsible of stage music ensambles.

Graduated in piano, composition, with a degree at Pisa University in italian literature with a focus on musicology (thesis on Turandot's ending), specialised in conducting in Milan, he teaches conducting tecnique at Accademia of Teatro alla Scala. He is also engaged in an intense activity as musicology writer and lecturer about the world of Opera, on which has even published a humorous book: La Lirica, scusate, non è una cosa seria (The Opera, forgive me, it's not a serious thing).

In the operatic field, he has conducted multiples times at Teatro alla Scala for the Accademia di Alto Perfezionamento (advanced training), at Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago (five seasons with Turandot and Il Trittico by Puccini), at Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, in Florence for Festivalopera, in the major theaters of Lombardy for Aslico, in Sicily for Festival dei Teatri di Pietra, in Rovigo for Teatro Sociale. In the symphonic field he has conducted in Musikverein of Vienna with Philarmonic Orchestra of Brno, in Tuscany with Orchestra della Toscana, and has held many other operatic-simphonic concerts with Orchestra of Puccini Festival in Italy, Great Britain and Holland.
