Daniela Roma

Pianist

Daniela Roma is an Italian American pianist. She is the leading performer of the music of the Italian composer Alfonso Rendano and a great interpreter of the music of the Russian Composer Aleksandr N. Skrjabin.

After she completed her piano studies at the Fausto Torrefranca Conservatorium, Vibo Valentia, Italy, Daniela Roma got a Master Degree with highest honors in Piano Performance at the Hogeschool voor Muziek, University of Professional Education, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She got also a Degree summa cum laude in DAMS (Department of Arts, Music and Performance) at  the University of Calabria, Italy, with a thesis on The Synesthesia in Aleksandr Skrjabin and Vasilij Kandinskij.

For the record label Phoenix Classics she recorded the Alfonso Rendano piano works, the quintetto for piano and strings and unpublished works. For the record label Dynamic she recorded “Scriabin visionary and poet”, a CD that includes the music of Scriabin’s first period and received flattering critical acclaim.

For technical poise and interpretative insight, heard in warmly immediate sound, Roma is a natural in this music.
- Richard Whitehouse, Gramophone Magazine

“Scriabin exploits many similar technical challenges (like thirds, sixths, and octaves) as well as rhythmically complex piano writing… Roma is up to all of these demands, and she makes the most of the music as well. …she is firmly among the big group of pianists who play Scriabin very well.”

- James Harrington, American Record Guide

“The interpretation of Daniela Roma, master of a solid technique, clearly denotes how this pianist is at ease with the difficult Scriabin staves and how, certainly, she comes from a long training and specialization on them...”

- Mattia Rossi, Classic Voice

She performed in prestigious concert Halls, among which are:

  • Concertgebouw de Doelen Rotterdam (the Netherlands)
  • Wiener saal, Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria)
